The comparison that will help you choose the right vertical garden for indoor or outdoor spaces.

What are Vertical Gardens?

Vertical gardens are an impressive way to add greenery to spaces with limited surface area. Whether it’s a restaurant, an office, or the entrance of a hotel, vertical gardens offer instant aesthetic upgrade and a natural touch.

However, there is one main dilemma:
Natural or preserved plants?

✅ Natural (Living) Vertical Gardens
Advantages:

• Filter the air, absorbing pollutants and improving its quality.

• Refresh the space with real vitality.

• Provide thermal and sound insulation for buildings.

• Continuously evolve and “breathe” within the space.

Disadvantages:

• Require constant maintenance: watering, fertilizing, pruning.

• Heavier structures, require study and irrigation system.

• Possibility of diseases or rapid deterioration without proper care.

✅ Preserved Plants
These are real plants that have undergone a special treatment with natural glycerin and dyes, allowing them to last for years without any maintenance.

Advantages:

• Zero maintenance – no watering, no light required.

• Lightweight structures, ideal for walls and ceilings.

• Almost identical aesthetic result to natural plants.

• Perfect for lobbies, offices, waiting rooms.

Disadvantages:

• Do not clean the air.

• Not suitable for outdoor use (sun/moisture damage).

• Do not grow or evolve over time.

✅ When to choose what?

• Choose natural vertical gardens when you want real greenery, oxygenation, and natural change.

• Choose preserved plants when low maintenance and aesthetics are the priority, especially in indoor professional spaces.
